GAWDA.org WordPress Redesign 2017

The Gases and Welders Distributors Association needed a fresh modern look that would encourage members to utilize their website more proactively and also be more accessible by mobile and handheld devices. While their existing website was responsive, it was designed many years ago when desktop screen sizes were much smaller.

The new responsive web design was created with a mobile-first approach and minimized the use of external files. PDF, Word Docs and Excel spreadsheets were loaded into the older site. While some of the documents remain because the need is still there, certain files were converted to HTML for easier consumption by the website visitors.

Before the website re-design process started, a heat map analysis was done on the homepage as well as a full review of Google Analytics data to determine top content on which to focus and abandoned pages which could be removed from the navigation and the website to make for a clean and friendly user experience.
