Blue Arrow WordPress IntranetFrustrated with the costs and limitations of working with Microsoft SharePoint for their company intranet, Berkowitz Pollack Brant wanted a solution that would provide the ability to easily update their content, allow the flexibility to add functionality as they needed and also the capability to design without limitations.

WordPress was chosen to be the Content Management System and meet all of the specifications. From managing news posts and blogs, calendar events and alerts, to photo & video galleries, WordPress made updates easy for the team at Berkowitz Pollack Brant. Plugins were used to interface with Microsoft Active Directory so that user data is synchronized across both systems. WooCommerce is used to allow employees access to a custom shopping cart based on a company reward system.

Additional functionality was created by programming custom WordPress plugins for:

  1. Displaying MSSQL data in graphs and charts
  2. Custom user and activity reports
  3. Custom file repository and upload capabilities
  4. Text message (SMS) alerts
  5. Custom search functionality

The entire intranet was built and runs securely within the company network, which minimizes the risk of attacks from spammers, hackers and malicious bots.
